Hi, I'm Wampa

Wampa has come a long way, from terrified of her new surroundings to genuinely comfortable. Rancor became her protector early on, and as Rancor grew more social, Wampa slowly began to follow her lead. Every mealtime, she purrs loudly and allows petting, and her socialization saw a real breakthrough once she was fed from a spoon, then eventually a finger.

She’s extremely gentle and rewards patience. Once she felt safe, she stopped bolting when approached, and now she’ll settle nearby to eat, drink, groom, and simply watch. She can be picked up and placed in a lap, where she’ll stay as long as the petting stays consistent, purring loudly even when she still seems a little unsure. Give her a few minutes, and she settles into peaceful sleep.

She grooms herself well and needs little upkeep, and she stays calm through nail trims. Early on, her foster family found that gently setting her down and letting her walk away, rather than letting her leap out of their arms, helped her learn she didn’t need to run.

She has a playful side that can go toe-to-toe with the most energetic of her littermates. She’s an acrobat when it comes to feathers on a string, and she also loves chasing balls with bells and ping pong balls. Fast-moving toys are her favorite, fast-moving humans are not. She’s good with kids, adults, and other cats. Given her timid nature, a dog is not recommended for her home.

How I Came to PGSPCA

In a galaxy not so far away (okay, just next door), a small colony of cats had been living wild for years, multiplying in the shadows with no one looking out for them. Kittens would come and go, and no one really knew what became of them once they wandered off.

Then a family of rebels intervened. Determined to give these younglings a real shot at life, they smuggled the newest litter out of the colony and into a secret base (also known as the spare bathroom). It wasn’t glamorous, but it was safe, and that was enough to change everything.

The kittens arrived scrappy and small, fighting off infections that clouded their eyes. But with steady care and the Force of a good vet team behind them, they healed. Now, fully recovered, vaccinated, and ready for their next mission, they’re searching the galaxy for the one thing every good story needs: a furever home.

Dream Home

Wampa would do best in a calmer home, where she won’t be pushed into flight mode. As with Mudhorn, a gradual introduction works best: a small space for the first few days to get familiar, then slowly opening up the rest of the home rather than all at once. She needs an energetic littermate who can help draw her further out of her shell. Bantha, Purrgil, or Rancor would all be great matches.
