About Me

Spirit was adopted September 2023!

Spirit is a sweet, but shy girl. She was picked up as a stray and was totally shut down and overwhelmed in the shelter environment. Once we took her in and placed her in a foster home, she needed a few days to adjust, but has become much more outgoing. She is quite food motivated and that is a great way to make friends with her.

Spirit is generally quiet and a medium energy dog, who seems to thrive on a set routine. She appears to be housebroken and is crate trained. She can be unsure with new dogs at first, but generally becomes comfortable with them after a minute and will sometimes engage in a small amount of play. It is unknown how she will do with cats or kids, although kids over 6 years might be best.

Her biggest flaw is that she currently is not good about walking on a leash and will pancake and not move. Therefore, a fenced yard is a must for her and her new owner will need to continue to work on leash walking with her. Luckily, at around 25lbs, she can be picked up and carried if needed.

Spirit can’t wait to meet her new family, so if interested, fill out an application on our website as the first step.
