About Me

Jonah was originally adopted out as a kitten in 2003 and 14 years later (in 2017), he ended up stray in rural Virginia. He was terribly emaciated and doing poorly at the Virginia shelter that took him in.  Fortunately, they found the microchip we’d implanted in 2003 and called us.

When we picked him up, he weighed less than 6 pounds and was in pretty bad shape physically, but he was still the sweetest boy, affectionate and thankful for having been rescued. After receiving the right meds and lots of tender loving care (including plenty of baby food and rotisserie chicken), Jonah’s health slowly improved. His energy returned, his coat became lush and full, and his eyes sparkle!

He’s like a new cat, 15 years young! Jonah still has the same sweet temperament and likes to keep an eye on his human at all times. He’s affectionate and playful, and he gets along well with people, cats, and dogs alike. He’s now a lap cat who also likes his own space. Jonah will need thyroid medicine to stay healthy (tablets twice daily), but has no other special needs or medicines. He is FIV/Feleuk negative, and up-to-date on all his shots. His foster mom adores him. Are you looking for the sweetest cat ever?
