Hi, I'm Petey
Tabby | Young | Male | Medium
When you first meet me, I’ll be a bit scared, so I may hide; I’m not aggressive at all, and I’d never bite or scratch you. But once I trust you, I will be your best friend! I love playing with my toys (sometimes my own tail), and I especially love being petted/scratched. Recently I’ve become a lap kitty! My foster mom describes me as having a fun, sweet, and quirky personality. Also, I am easily motivated by food, and turkey is the way to my heart.
Hobbies: napping and talking with my foster mom, playing with toys, and looking out the window.
Favorite Toy: feathers on string and mouse toys.
Favorite Napping Spot: on my foster mom’s bed or near it.
HOW I CAME TO THE PGSPCA
I was part of a neighborhood colony of outdoor cats, but when our feeder moved, the neighborhood didn’t want us anymore. Most of the other cats were moved to new outdoor places, but the PGSPCA saw something special in me–that I can be an adoptable indoor cat. And I’ve proven them right!
I am looking for a quiet home and a family that will be patient as I get to know them. Right now I am living in my foster mom’s bedroom, and I have started exploring the rest of the house! If I come home with you, it’d be helpful for me to originally stay in a room where you will be often and expand from there. I will need some hiding spots to go to, but don’t worry–once I trust you, I’ll barely be in them! I’m not picky about how many people I can live with, but preferably it’d be between 1-4 people who I can get attached to.
- Age: Approximately 1 year (as of May 2020)
- Good with kids: I've never met kids, but young ones will probably scare me.
- Good with dogs: I'm good with calm dogs.
- Good with other cats: Possibly a calm, friendly one, and with a slow introduction.
- Suitable for townhouse and/or apartment: I could live in a townhouse or an apartment.
- Activity level: My activity level is moderate.
Please check the adoption-show-attendees page to see if Petey will be attending the next adoption show.
NOTE: We are an all volunteer group and do not operate a shelter. All of our animals are in foster homes. We are unable to place our animals outside of the Baltimore/DC area.
