About Me

Penny was adopted February 2023!

Meet Penny Lane! She’s the snuggliest dog on the planet! This magnificent girl finds herself looking for a new home after her owners surrendered her to the county shelter. At 8 years old, she found herself alone, pregnant, and with pneumonia. She was so confused. To make matters worse, she lost her puppies shortly after their birth.

When Penny arrived at PGSPCA, she had almost given up. But here’s the good news, our Penny is full of light and love and snuggles! After a few weeks of recovering, her personality is starting to show. She’s happiest when she’s touching you in some way. She bonds super quickly. Penny also loves crawling under blankets to create her own snuggle den. Penny has excellent house manners. She is just starting to play with us and lives for belly rubs. She knows basic commands and is so intelligent; you almost believe she speaks English. She appears to know just what you’re asking of her.

Penny LOVES her walks or even just time zooming around the backyard. She likes to choose her dog friends. She’s generally fine with them until they gruff at her. Penny also is protective of her people, so a quiet home without a lot of traffic coming and going would be welcome. She will bark at new people but once they win her over with treats, she’s fine. She is also more wary of men initially.

Her wish for Santa is bring her a forever family, one who would be quiet and let her sleep with them and snuggle non-stop. Penny is almost as plug and play as you can get… no assembly required!
