About Me

Jillie was adopted September 2023!

Jillie is a sweet and wiggly seven-year-old beagle mix. Her favorite activities are taking naps, watching (and smelling) her foster family cook, and going for walks. Training her is fun and easy because she is very, very food motivated. She likes to be where the people are and will follow her foster caretakers into whatever room they’re in and will curl up on the floor in a tight little ball of concentrated cuteness.

She’s very well behaved, doesn’t bark when people come to the door or walk by in the hallway outside her foster family’s apartment. She doesn’t chew on any of her foster family’s things, just her Kong toy stuffed with frozen wet food, which she loves!  Jillie has been very sweet with the handful of children (as young as six) she’s met on her walks.

Jillie doesn’t like to be left alone. She will bark and howl or pee if left without something to distract her (like her Kong toy). However, she has had a few several-day-long stays at a temporary foster home with other dogs, and she did fine being left alone there. She may still have some residual isolation distress and will need a family that’s able to work with her on this issue.

The ideal home for Jillie would be one with moderate commotion, a fenced yard, and people who are home more often than not and would enjoy taking a daily walk (or 2 or 3) with her (and letting her sniff at her leisure). She’s happy being home along with her foster mom all day but really enjoyed staying with her foster ‘grandparents’ in a big house with a lot of people to check in on.

If you’re looking for a well-behaved laid-back canine with an award-winning cuteness rating, Jillie may be the perfect addition to your family!
