Kane

Kane is a bouncy, curious and friendly little guy! He is patient waiting for treats and for dinner! He enjoys shredding toys, meeting new friends and going for walks. He is crate trained and eager to learn and spend time with his people.

He is great with his foster sibling and other dogs, and loves kids!

Monty

Monty is an adorable little nugget of joy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He’s currently thriving in foster care where he gets along wonderfully with other dogs and even farm animals, happily fitting right into a lively, social home.

Monty is a great walking buddy who does well on leash and proudly carries sticks along the way like it’s his favorite hobby. He’s house-trained, easygoing, and just plain funny in all the best ways. His foster mom absolutely adores him, and he’s truly thriving in her care.

Monty is looking for a home where he can soak up plenty of attention, enjoy adventures outside, and then wind down curled up on the couch with his people. He’s affectionate, engaging, and ready to be someone’s constant companion — he really is something special.

Snapple – I’m adopted!

Snapple

was adopted September 2026!

If you’re looking for a best friend, playmate, and cuddle buddy all in one, Snapple is your guy! This goofy pupper loves everyone he meets—dogs, kids, and grown-up humans alike. His philosophy on life is simple: everyone is a friend he just hasn’t met yet.

Snapple is house-trained and has been doing wonderfully with working on his leash manners. He’s food-motivated, loves his treats, and would be more than happy to learn a party trick or two to show off at your next dinner party.

He’s also a baseball fan, as he proved at a recent Chesapeake Baysox game!

Whether he’s soaking up the sunshine, romping around with his dog friends, or curled up on the couch watching The Secret Life of Pets with his foster family, Snapple is happiest when he’s with his people. If you’re ready for a loyal companion who will keep you smiling every day, Snapple is ready to meet you. ❤️

Chimmu (Courtesy Post)

Meet Chimmu! Sweet, curious, and — with his gorgeous, golden-brown coat — one very handsome boy indeed! Born on the streets in India, where his mother overcame many obstacles to keep him and his siblings safe and fed, he is now in a foster home here in the States.

Chimmu is a people-pleaser and very ready for his forever home, where he could chase a ball, snuggle on the sofa, take long walks, and just have fun with his people. Although he has grown up with other dogs, he is shy at first with people he doesn’t know. It won’t take long, though, for him to bond with a family who welcomes him gently and makes him feel at home – in other words, like one of the pack!

Aero – I’m Adopted!

Aero was adopted September 2026!

Aero is a young, sweet gentleman who has been through far more than any dog should in his short life. Yet despite everything, he hasn’t let it dim his spirit. Aero is as gentle as they come—extremely affectionate, wonderfully well-behaved, and able to settle into new surroundings with remarkable ease.

Aero is displaying more spunk and personality by the day. He is a huge fan of the pup cup and his foster mom reports he likes apple slices and chasing the water from the hose.

He absolutely loves other dogs and is especially fond of his foster brother, Malcolm. Aero also gets along beautifully with kids and every person he meets. In fact, he’s never met a stranger he didn’t love. His greatest joys in life are simple: love, snuggles, attention, and a cozy place—or lap—to rest his weary head.

Aero is looking for a family that understands that while he is blind and partially deaf, he is no less amazing. These challenges don’t define him; they’re simply a small part of who he is. Aero is 100% perfect in all the ways that matter. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion with a heart of gold, Aero may just be the missing piece your family has been waiting for.

Pip – I’m Adopted!

Pip was adopted September 2026!

Pip is a sweet and curious pint-sized guy who came to us all the way from a shelter in South Carolina, and now he’s ready for the best part of his story: finding a loving home of his own!

Still a very young pup who is learning and growing, Pip is very eager to learn, especially when snacks are involved! He has the personality of a big dog and silly puppy antics.

Like all puppies, Pip will need an owner who is ready and willing to provide him with lots of socialization and appropriate outlets for his energy while also hitting the ground running with some basic training. Pip already knows how to sit for treats and is working on “down” and “come.”

After everything Pip has already been through in his short life, he is looking for a family where he’ll feel safe, loved and just a little bit spoiled.

Buddy – I’m Pending!

Buddy has a pending application!

Buddy is a 1 year old doodle mix that was found roaming the streets of Pennsylvania extremely emaciated, but despite everything he has been through, Buddy is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and trusting. Currently 15 lbs, Buddy will not grow any larger but his ideal weight is a bit heavier.

If Buddy had to choose between a treat and getting some love from his person, there’s a good chance he’d choose the pets! He absolutely loves attention and enjoys being close to people. He’s also a playful little guy who likes toys, neighborhood walks, and rolling around on the couch and making himself completely at home.

Buddy already knows “sit” and “come.” He’s still learning some of the finer points of being a house dog. Because he is not yet neutered, his foster family currently uses a belly band/diaper in the house while working with him. He could also use some continued leash training, especially when he spots other dogs as he gets excited!

Buddy would be happy with a single person, a couple, or a family who is ready to give him the consistency, patience, and affection he deserves. After having such a rough start, what Buddy seems to want most is simple: someone to love him and let him know he’s finally home.

Mammy Chikki (Courtesy Post)

Mammy

Mammy Chikki is a very sweet dog who loves to please her people, play outdoors, go for long walks, or just snuggle on the sofa! She is a big fan of chewy treats, though she can be a bit finicky at mealtime – for example, she doesn’t care for dry food mixed with wet food – but otherwise she has a good appetite.

After being rescued from the streets of India, where she cared for her two puppies in spite of the rough environment, she is eager for a new opportunity. Like many dogs who are rescued from a difficult situation, she would be happiest as an “only dog” in a quiet home with a person or family that can provide her with love, reassurance, and trust. With time and care, her dislike of loud noises and other dogs may well subside.

This brave girl is ready to blossom!

Monae

Monae is a brindle beauty who is a rock star on leash, fully house trained and makes for an excellent work from home buddy! She likes to be with her people.

Some of Monae’s favorite things:
– treats, stuffed Kongs, lick mats
– affection and giving kisses
– meeting new friends, a stranger is just a friend she hasn’t met yet!
– hitting snooze! Monae will happily sleep in on the weekend with you and makes the cutest snores.
– playing tug

Monae is very food motivated and immediately sits for treats and meals, allows baths and nail trims, a trustworthy mature lady!

She can be picky about her dog friends, and prefers those that will respect her space and wouldn’t mind having her humans to herself!

Rancor. I’m pending!

Rancor has a pending application!

Rancor came to the rescue timid and scared, but as she slowly learned to trust her humans, her confident, playful, and loving side began to shine through. She’s protective of her shyer littermates, and now plays easily with the humans in her life too.

She’s patient when it comes to lap time, often sitting in front of you and staring until she’s invited up, then settling in after a meal. She is full of energy and endlessly playful. She’s great with adults, kids, and other cats. Her experience with dogs is unknown, so a dog-free introduction period would be a good idea if you have one at home.

Favorite Toy: feathers on a string, going full acrobat to catch them mid-air. She’d likely be just as obsessed with a red laser dot

As a Domestic Short Hair, she needs minimal brushing, though she enjoys it anyway. Nail trims make her a little wiggly, but she handles them well overall.

How I Came to PGSPCA

In a galaxy not so far away (okay, just next door), a small colony of cats had been living wild for years, multiplying in the shadows with no one looking out for them. Kittens would come and go, and no one really knew what became of them once they wandered off.

Then a family of rebels intervened. Determined to give these younglings a real shot at life, they smuggled the newest litter out of the colony and into a secret base (also known as the spare bathroom). It wasn’t glamorous, but it was safe, and that was enough to change everything.

The kittens arrived scrappy and small, fighting off infections that clouded their eyes. But with steady care and the Force of a good vet team behind them, they healed. Now, fully recovered, vaccinated, and ready for their next mission, they’re searching the galaxy for the one thing every good story needs: a furever home.

Dream Home

Rancor would thrive in an active household ready to keep up with her energy and love of toys and play. She can match the pace of Bantha, Sarlac, Krayt, or Porge in a high-energy home, or balance out a calmer household paired with Mudhorn or Wampa. Like her siblings, she needs to be adopted with a companion her age.
