About Me

Buttercup was adopted August 2022!

Buttercup is a wonderful and well-behaved dog. She rarely jumps, she has been exposed to small children and is gentle and kind, and has met several other dogs and gets along well with them. She is excited to meet other dogs, so may send the wrong message, but with the right introductions, she is amazing. Buttercup eats well, shows no signs of any food aggression, and has not attempted to take food off the tables or countertops. She’s very well behaved in our home – happy, excited to be near us, rests when we rest, and although she is crate trained, we are attempting to have her stay out of the crate at night and sleep on a dog bed in our bedroom. So far, so good!

She is very intrigued by squirrels and birds, so needs some training when walking on a leash because she does really well unless she sees a squirrel and then will pull hard to try to get it. She also loves to look out the windows at other animals, but will also get very excited when she sees squirrels. She does great, though, on a run and can make a great running or walking friend for an active family.

Overall, Buttercup is a fantastic dog with an awesome demeanor. She will do great with some daily exercise and training. She is fine in a home with other dogs or alone would be fine too. She would do great with kids too, and will make a great family pup. She has what the vet believes to be an old injury to one of her paws that caused her to lose the tips of some of her toes.  It is all healed now and isn’t causing any problems.  She uses it just fine when walking, but when she runs fast, she tends to just skip using it. It does not affect her health, her speed, or her demeanor at all. She is not bothered by it as we have tested her by touching it and she’s unaffected.
