Hi, I'm Petey
Tabby | Young | Male | Medium
When you first meet me, I’ll be scared, so I may hide a lot. New people and places are pretty scary for me. I’m not aggressive at all, and I’d never bite or scratch you. Once I trust you, I will be your best friend! I love playing with my toys (sometimes my own tail), and I especially love being petted. My foster mom says I’m a lot of fun, very sweet, and full of personality! Also, I am easily motivated by food, and turkey is the way to my heart.
Hobbies: napping and talking with my foster mom, playing with toys, and looking out the window.
Favorite Toy: feathers on string and mouse toys.
Favorite Napping Spot: on my foster mom’s bed or near it.
HOW I CAME TO THE PGSPCA
I was part of a neighborhood colony of outdoor cats, but when our feeder moved, the neighborhood didn’t want us anymore. Most of the other cats were moved to new outdoor places, but the PGSPCA saw something special in me–that I can be an adoptable indoor cat. And I’ve proven them right!
I am looking for a quiet home and a family that has lots of time to spend with me and patience to love me and let me learn to trust them. Right now I am living in my foster mom’s bedroom, and am slowly exploring the rest of the house, though I am still timid about exploring. I’d like a room in your house where you spend a lot of time and I can slowly expand my comfort zone. I will need some hiding spots, but don’t worry–once I trust you, I’ll barely use them! I’m very eager to find a new person or two to love me forever!
- Age: Approximately 1 year (as of May 2020)
- Good with kids: I've never met kids, but young ones will probably scare me.
- Good with dogs: Most likely no, but maybe a calm dog that leaves me alone.
- Good with other cats: Possibly a calm, friendly one, and with a slow introduction.
- Suitable for townhouse and/or apartment: I could live in a townhouse or an apartment.
- Activity level: My activity level is moderate.
NOTE: We are an all volunteer group and do not operate a shelter. All of our animals are in foster homes. We are unable to place our animals outside of the Baltimore/DC area.
