COURTESY POST

This cat deserves to be called the Great Gatsby now, but that was not always the case. Abandoned when his family moved, Gatsby wandered outside for weeks until a kind soul took him in. She noticed he’d developed a total urinary blockage, which needed surgery, so the next few weeks were spent recuperating from surgery. He has since regained his health, although he will always need to be on prescription (U/D) urinary care food.

Gatsby is a sweet cat who loves to cuddle and have his tummy scratched. Perhaps due to his time outside, he is easily startled by movements that are too fast, so he would not be a good fit for a home with small children or other animals.

Although he is doing great at home, he is getting frustrated in the small room he occupies during the day while his rescuer works long hours. He seems to have a need to make up for lost time, trying to cram as much human contact as possible into each day. Gatsby really wants and needs human company.

Do you have the time for this Great cat?
