Adoption Application

By submitting your application online, our adoption committee will have a chance to review it prior to the show. However, please understand that this will not grant you priority over other applicants. We do not operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Our main priority is to find the best possible home for each dog or cat. It is also very helpful to include more than one animal of interest in case your first choice goes to another applicant. Print a copy of your application and bring it with you when you come to meet the animal. Once you have come to a show and have been interviewed by our adoption coordinator, please allow 2-5 days for an initial callback if your application is being considered. If more than 7 days have passed, please assume that the animal was already placed or your application was not selected.

Please e-mail if you would like a copy of the adoption application e-mailed to you.

I give the SPCA-HS of PG Co. permission to investigate to the fullest extent of their legal capability, the information written above as well as conduct inquiries with veterinarians and related officials. I agree, if the application passes stage one of the acceptance procedure, a home and yard visit on a mutually agreed upon date by an officer of the SPCA-HS of PG Co must be done as part of the adoption process.

In addition, I understand that the decision of which animals are adopted to specific homes is dependent upon many varying factors, including but not limited to, the compatibility of home and family to the individual animal(s), and the amount of eligible applications received on this animal. I realize that it is the SPCA-HS's prerogative to place the animal in the home the SPCA-HS feels is most appropriate and that SPCA-HS 's decision is final. I therefore will not argue with any member of the SPCA-HS over a final decision on my application. However, unless otherwise indicated by the SPCA-HS, I am free to apply for other animals and undergo the application process as many times as necessary to obtain a successful adoption.

I have read the above information carefully and have filled out this application honestly and in its entirety. I understand that omission of pertinent information and or failure to complete all questions that apply can result in the declination of this application. Furthermore, in the event of a successful adoption, if an omission or an untruth is later discovered, I understand that the SPCA-HS of PG Co reserves the right to annul the adoption and reclaim the animal.
